Motorhead


Motorhead is a rock'n'roll band that, by its weight and speed, have influenced many bands, heavy metal, especially thrash metal, punk rock and hardcore. It was formed in 1975 by vocalist and bassist Lemmy Kilmister. The passion for music by Lemmy Kilmister (vocals and bass) led him to still in the 60's follow the band as roadie for Jimi Hendrix. His professional debut in the musical world would be with the band Hawkwind that has some small hits in the 70s. Lemmy was fired by the HawKwind have been barred at the airport in Canada by carrying drugs (actually it was amphetamine). Decides then assemble a band with the drummer Lucas Fox and Larry Wallis, calling this new band of Bastards, but then changed the name to Motorhead (an American slang used by addicted to amphetamines) which was the name of its latest contribution to the HawKwind . Lucas was replaced by Phil Fox ( "Philthy Animal") Taylor who was an amateur musician and childhood friend of Lemmy. After the recording of what would be the first album, On Parole, which is not now being launched by the record to be considered slightly trade, decide call a second guitarist for the band, "Fast" Eddie Clarke. Larry Wallis soon would the band, which then return to a trio. The first album (self titled) was launched in 1977 by a small record label. Overkill, the second album was the first launched by a major record label in 1978, creating the first hit of the band, the cover "Louie Louie." With Bomber (1979) and Ace Of Spades (1980) the band reached the general public and has relaunched a new recording of the principle of career, On Parole, which had been neglected when the record of his original recording. In 1982 the original guitarist Fast Eddie left the band, being replaced by Brian Robertson (who had played with Thin Lizzy), not warm place because of bad reception from fans (and by denying it to play some old songs) , being replaced by a pair of guitarists, Mick Wurzel and Phil Campbell. The original drummer Philty Taylor was replaced by Petter Gill in the same season. Philty would be outside the band for a short time, returning after the recording of the classic Orgasmatron 1986 (whose title track was rewritten by Sepultura). With their original drummer write the discs and 1916 Rock and Roll. In the tour of 1916 Philty again left the band, being replaced by Mickey Dee, drummer for the band King Diamond (vocals Mercyfull of Fate). Launched in 1992 March or Die, his greatest commercial success, with participation of guitarist Slash (of Guns N'Roses banda) on several songs and a partnership with the Ozzy Osbourne song "Hellraiser" (also released by Ozzy on the album No More Tears) galore and disclosed in radio and MTV. After disagreements with the record label Sony launched Bastards (1993) by a small German label, with little effect, and the discs that followed.
