Iron Maiden


Iron Maiden is one of English heavy metal band, formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, formerly of the bands of Gypsy's Kiss and Smile. Originally from London, was one of the main bands of the musical movement that became known as NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The name "Iron Maiden" was inspired by a medieval instrument of torture. This was also the nickname of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who appears on covers of compact "Women in Uniform" and "Sanctuary." With over three decades of existence, of fourteen studio albums, six live albums, fourteen videos and several compact, Iron Maiden is one of the most important and successful bands throughout the history of heavy metal, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. His work influenced many bands, power metal, thrash metal, speed metal and death metal. They are cited as influence by bands such as Hazy Hamlet, Slayer, Metallica, Slipknot, Anthrax, Angra, Helloween, Death, Megadeth, Dream Theater and Umphrey's McGee. In March 2001 the band was awarded Ivor Novello Award in recognition of achievements in an international as a parameter of the most successful partnerships of the composition of England. During the American tour of 2005, was added to Calçada of Fame in Hollywood. The band is also present in the main lists of the greatest rock bands of all time. The Maiden has headed several major events, including Rock in Rio, in Donington Monsters of Rock, Ozzfest alongside Black Sabbath's, Wacken Open Air, Gods of Metal, Lollapalooza, Download Festival and the Festival of Reading and Leeds. The band has several songs based on legends, books, stories and films, including The Wicker Man, The Prisoner, Stranger in a Strange Land - a science fiction novel of 1961, Robert A. Heinlein, Murders In The Rue morgue, Flight of Icarus, Where Eagles Dare, rime of the Ancient Mariner - based on a poem by Samuel Coleridge -, To Tame a Land - in the series of science fiction Duna, from Frank Herbert - and The Trooper -- The song based on the novel Charge of The Light Brigade. Other recurring themes in much of banda songs are occultism, murder and the dark, for example in music Murders in the Rue morgue and Innocent Exile and the covers of albums Sanctuary, Women in Uniform, and Iron Maiden Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter. Iron Maiden is one of the most important and successful bands throughout the history of heavy metal.


Avril Lavigne


Born September 27, 1984 in the town of Napanee, Canada, from small Avril Ramona Lavigne was connected with the music, singing in choirs (mainly churches) and small festivals. At age 12 she composed the first chords on the guitar, at the age of 14 wrote his first song which was called Can not Stop Thinking About You. Although adolescence Avril won a competition to sing with the pop star Shania Twain. At 16 years he moved to New York at the request of the entrepreneur Cliff Fabri who has a hearing with one of the directors of the Artist. After a hearing of only 15 minutes Avril has a contract for the launch of his CD. It then began to work with some composers, but nothing was done because Avril wanted something more rock, country ballads and not expect the executives of the artist. She began to take influences from artists such as Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls and Blink 182. It is then moved to Los Angeles to work with a group of composers known as The Matrix and clif Magness. Let Go, her debut album was released in the June 2002 and days after the single was released that soon Complicated made success on MTV. In August Avril artist wins prize for disclosure on the Video Music Awards in 2002. In September Let Go won triple platinum disc and bassist leaves London for the entry of Charles Moniz. Sk8er Boy's second single is released. In early 2003 Lavigne alerts to receive 5 Grammy. In February the disc Let Go won five times platinum and is launched to name one single I'm With You Losing Grip in March and is also released as singles (the last of the album Let Go). In 2003 Lavigne releases her first DVD titled My World with many songs including some covers and Knockin 'On Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan and Metallica's Fuel, and begin recording his new CD entitled Under My Skin that was launched in 2004 and proved that Lavigne was not only a "summer hit" as many thought. Compositions worked better, more mature lyrics and a velvety voice of his show that Lavigne would pique very strong candidate and would be a pop icon for the beginning of the millennium. Songs like Take Me Away, Do not Tell Me (the first single cd) and together show that. Today we can say that Lavigne ensure more than its 15 minutes of fame of artists and creations generated by major record labels to sell cds pop can make sure from time to time.
