Coldplay

Coldplay is a rock band formed in 1998 in London, England, known for their melodic songs and lyrics retrospectives. The Coldplay has a sound close to other artists such as Radiohead, Oasis, Jeff Buckley and Travis. Other influences are a-ha, U2, REM, Pink Floyd, John Lennon, The Smiths, Sparklehorse, The Stone Roses, Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips, Neil Young, Echo and the Bunnymen and, more recently, Johnny Cash. Before his death, Cash was actually invited by the band to record a song before, but not had the opportunity to do so. The band's first album, Parachute, left in 2000 and gained notability by unique style melancholy and introspection that converge in the lyrics, guitar, violin and piano with drums and bass tone confessional discreet. The most popular track of the disk is Yellow, more explicit declaration of love from all of the disk. Since the release of A Rush of Blood to the Head, their second album, Coldplay have also supported the various political causes. They advocate for the campaign "Make Trade Fair" from Oxfam and Amnesty International. The band also participated in various charity projects such as "Band Aid 20", the "Live 8" and "Teenage Cancer Trust." Chris Martin also protested against the invasion of Iraq and supported John Kerry. In 2005, the third album X & Y is released after nearly a year of waiting. It was the best selling disc of that year, nearly 8 million copies. The disc name is the ups and downs of life, Martin said: "My whole day is a mixture of optimism and pessimism in its most extreme forms. And this is for me X & Y, are two sides. I like the fact that they are very strong letters, very clear. " The latest work released in 2008 is called "Viva La Vida, Chris Martin said in an interview that he chose this name based on their last tour in Latin America especially in Brazil. In "Viva La Vida" Coldplay the worked together with producer Brian Eno (legendary producer of Achtung Baby, U2's fourth disc). Some songs were left out of the album, including "Lhuna" written in partnership with austaliana Kylie Minogue. Other songs were released on a EP called Prospekt's March.
